Dan Murray is a good up and coming centre half, but no way is he as good as many centre halves in the EL this season...Hawkins, Oman, McGiunness, Rodgers, Maguire, Foley have all been better than him in the premier, Finnucane and Charles in the First.

Adamson: Heary, Maguire, Rodgers, El Khebir: Morrison, Hunt, O'Callaghan, Cahill: O'Flynn, Crowe.

People can't be putting Ryan in based on this season!?! He's not even a garantee on the bohs team.....

GK Adamson
RB Heary
LB El Khebir
CB Foley
CB McGovern
RM Kirby
CM Hunt
CM Beasley
LM Morrison
CF Crowe
CF Barret

Morrison as my left mid - Think he's been instrumental in pulling Bohs back to title favourites
Kirby right - Most consistent that I can think of, and tbh no body immediately springs to mind as being outstanding.
Gone for Foley in the centre of defence - Hawkins is another living on his past.
CF - gone for Barret and Crowe, tough call.... Just think that Crowe's the better poacher and Barret would set him up for shed loads...

A few selections earlier were obviously based on reputation and not this seasons performances. My hardest decisions were leaving out O'Callaghan and Barrett. I left George out because the 3 strikers I've selected were shoe-ins in my opinion, and to play a fourth would unbalance the eleven more than i have already done!! Barrett got a lot of rave reviews because he was a relative unknown who has done really well, but don't think he has done as much as those in my team.

How has the leagues top scorer been left out of nearly every team so far!?

Macy

It's an anti-shels conspiracy......

Think it's just so hard to call between Byrne, Crowe and O'Flynn for an out and out scorer.... My thinking was to have a playmaker alongside a scorer, and Crowe is the best goal hanger in the league at the moment...

Earlier in the season I would definitely picked Byrne (and possibly Bird too) but Crowe is in fire at the moment

Anybody who picked Delaney obviously hasn't seen him play this year...

idiot everyone know john o flynn and george o callaghan are to of the best players in the league, o'flynn was easily the best player before his injury and since then o'callaghan has taken up the role.
only a fool could exclude these 2 players !!

playmaker = George O Callaghan

so you picked crowe for the best eircom league 11 despite the facts he's only played well in the last 4 or 5 matches... where was he for most of the resst of the season.. anonymous

oh for goodness sake, if they were any good at all, they'd be playing at a higher level, in dublin, years ago.

Sure I know I should've picked the whole cork team, that plays infront of 50000 every home game (unless they fall on a Tuesday)....

You are in this case actually, and I even said that it was a tough call for centre forward - you could perm any of Byrne, O'Flynn, Crowe and Barret IMO..... Just think that a front pairing of Crowe and Barret would work better....

Again O'Callaghan has a shout, but not at centre forward, and I wouldn't play him in the midfield.

I knew I was asking for problems when there were no Cork players, but I wasn't going to stick them in for the sake of an easy time on here.... Only suprise was that James morphed into Patsh to give out....

Yeah, haven't seen him have a good game for Pat's yet - very surprised at that! And Robbie Mac is on fire at the moment in our defence too, so we're not missing him either!

Now if only we had some forwards...

Yeah, or Hunt, or Morrison, or O'Flynn, or Foley, or Adamson, or Byrne,

and young player definitely Doyle, or Fahey, or Barrett...

There's loads of excellent players and some have had wonderful seasons. i'm not saying O'Callaghan hasn't been great but there would be other, equally deservbing, candidates

Thats the worse yet. Hutton plays centre half/centre mid and hasn't been great this year. heary is a right back. Hoolahan doesn't even play for Shels...

Hard to leave off the bench but I made myself: Shay Kelly, O'Flynn, S.Byrne

I basically don't like not having four in midfield, couldn't leave O'Callaghan out but wouldn't play him up front either. Toss up between who'd start between Thomas Heary and Crawford, but gave it to Crawford on the basis that he's been doing it for longer.

Regardless of form, or any other...erm...circumstances, that would be my ideal eL team. I'm probably a bit biased in two of my U.C.D. choices but I honestly believe that you won't find a more talented creative midfielder in the league than Alan Cawley. He can pass, tackle, he works hard and is an excellent set-piece taker. His temper is at times questionable but he'd still be a huge asset to any team.

The Lord God Almighty has spoken....

Why are you still hanging around here?

Hoolahan is a class act and I can't understand how he doesn't get in the Shels team. He ran the show for Ireland against Swiss.
