Glad both Trapattoni and Tardelli are doing what they get paid large bucks for and are finally going to watch some of our players live. They were also at the Norwich/Ipswich game this afternoon so lots of Irish players on view for them.No surprise with Rowlands who has been one of the more consistent Irish players for his club down the years. Excellent again yesterday. Both Foley and Ward were their usual dependable selves. From both games the two player’s imo who stood out above anyone were Rowlands and Wes Hoolahan. Surprisingly enough the Doc did well at centre back for Norwich.

Anyone got a link to the goal? Or the Paddy McCarthy one?

Rowlands is a steady player and I'd probably have him in ahead of Gibson at this point. Wouldn't mind him being selected in one of the centre-mid roles.

Can not believe that he is not even in the squad

Rowlands would prob be the best replacement for S Reid at the moment. He is fairly consistent for QPR and I wouldnt be surprised if he was a prem player next year. Rather Rowlands over Gibson.

He'll only be in the Prem if QPR get promoted. He's 29 now and I wouldn't see any club being interested in buying him. Unless one of the promoted sides managers really like him as a player.
If Rowlands is being touted then Alan Quinn should also be mentioned he played a few times already and did quite well if I remember corretly. Especially in a game against Holland about 5 years ago. He's also 29 and playing consistantly at the same level as Rowlands. Not sure if he would be much of an improvement on Whelan but at least he's playing regularly.

Where is Quinn playing? Last I heard he was at Ipswich, but he's not getting a game there. Has he moved on?

He's still at Ipswich and had up until Nov. 29th started 16 games. So I would say up until now he has been a regular starter. I don't know if that will continue though.
Actually if you look at the stats up until Nov. 29th, which I got form www.chatsoccer.net; he and Rowlands have a remarkably similar record this season. Both are 29 years old, Quinn has started 16 games and Rowlands has started 15, both have 1 goal, both have two bookings and the teams they play for are only seperated by 4 points in the table.

Alan Quinn is a bit too lightweight to play in Trap's system.
Even though Rowlands isn't the biggest guy in the world, he plays a physical game and could adapt to play in Trap's system.
I think Quinn is more creative, but Rowlands would offer a better overall game.

He missed a penalty against Wednesday last night. What a shame ;).
