I'm looking to get a cheap DVD recorder to transfer some of the movies I have saved on my Sky+ to DVD and free up some space for more recording. Anyone know where I can get one in Dublin for around €80 or €90, or is it too much to expect them to be that cheap?

I got my LG one for 130 2 years ago so i reckon you should get one for your budget easy enough.

How do you transfer from Sky plus or NTL DVR to DVD.

The Sky+ manual makes it out to be pretty easy. You just get a DVD recorder, connect it to your Sky+ box by scart and go into your recordings and copy away.. Haven't done it yet though.
Thanks for the info Anto. I'll have a look around next week for one.

Same as video taping something off the telly.

I was reading some forums and the whole connecting it to your computer sounds very complicated. I think it'd just be easier to get a DVD recorder for about €80 than that messing around..

Man, if it makes it easier in the long run then i'd go with it.
I bought one in Dunnes for 35 euros about 18 months ago,was meant to only tie me over for a summer till i could afford a better one but i just never got around to replacing this one as ive not needed to.I thought for that price it would die after a few weeks so i kept my reciept but no problems at all.
