The voice of reason, I don't understand the obsession with putting up decorations so early, Christmas only starts on th Christmas Day

I usually go with the first Saturday of December personally!

A friend of mine in the states told me that when they were growing up they would decorate the house at some stage during december but Santa would bring the Christmas tree fully decorated on Christmas eve. Nice bit of magic there.

Or, alternatively, never take them down. Then you could appear in the Herald and Metro in early November, when the papers are doing their advertainment features.

It would make my day if, when I opened up foot.ie on my PC, I was greeted with a lovely Christmas song.

Nah exact opposite imo, the best part of christmas is the run up to it, nights out etc and then maybe stephens night. Christmas day is a borefest and once you get past stephens day its all over really.
