Well done to the two lads, great to see them playing at that level.

At least we know where we stand now, the two lads are out for our final two games.

Both will be a loss, we do have cover for Kearney, N****wo was man of the match last weekend against the Kerry U21's on a side that included Conor O'Grady, Behan and CP O'Brien), and with a bit of luck Flynny will be back, although that's where the bigger problem could lie.

Hopefully third will be well wrapped up at that stage though.

I'm delighted for the two lads. Doyler has impressed a lot of people in the Irish set up with his performances and deserves his call up.

Kearney has been with the under-age teams all the way up and has been one of there most consistant players. Has got his match fitness back since coming to City and will be valuable to Ireland in the UAE.

Both players will be a big loss to City though

Great for the 2 players, not so good for City but still wouldn't make us stop them going or wishing themt he best.

Doyle is best as a forward & would love to see him partner O'Flynn next season.

Nice kudos for City as a club & might help attract good playesr to the club.

If George has an suspensions at the end of the season we will have zero creativity left the the team.

Dolan asks for league intervention

Cork City manager Pat Dolan has asked the eircom League to rearrange Premier Division fixtures AGAIN - just ten days after the fixtures committee settled on definite dates for the remaining games in the Premier Division season.

Cork are destined to be without two of their first-team players, winger Liam Kearney and striker Kevin Doyle, for the final two games of the season as they have been selected in Gerry Smith’s Irish under-20 squad for the World Youth Cup finals in the United Arab Emirates, which begin later this month.

And Dolan, who expressed pride at the fact that two of the Leesiders’ players have been included, also called on the league authorities to rearrange some of City’s fixtures, so that the club is not at a loss because of having two talented youngsters on its books.

Quote of the Day

"It would be very bizarre if we were penalised for developing young players and helping to contribute to what should be a fantastic World Cup. We certainly don’t envisage a situation where we’ll have to play with a weakened team."

- Cork City manager Pat Dolan wants the league to rearrange some of his side’s fixtures due to the inclusions of two Cork players in the Irish under-20 squad.
