Apologies if this is else where but does anyone know are there any plans to relaunch the website for the league next year as current one is quiet poor.
Under 20 section and A championship are not on it (if there are I can't find them) poor match reports slow to update etc

Also a new domain name now that Eircom is no longer main sponsor bit pointless having website address http://www.eircomloi.ie/

I checked A page 2 weeks ago to see where Mervue had finished in table - the tables hadn't been updated since Sept 22!

Horrible website. Far too many things wrong with it to even start to list them. Content is ok but structure terrible.

If the site was any good people would be on there all the time, its not ...... end of. As Pete said, the content is good but the layout and the navigation on the site is brutal, so much so i gave up going there. Its a shame because it has the potential to be very good.

was anything about the site brought up at the fans forum or about websites in the league in general?

missing out on a lot of potential here as often first thing people see when looking up anything about a club or the league in general

Dunno about recently, but it's been mentioned before. Stock reply is "Yes, we agree with you and we've plans to relaunch it"

They should seriously look at a website that works, and works well and try and replicate that. Its seems logical to me to be honest, cant understand why its not happening.

Wasn't at end of season Forum but as you say it was mentioned back at the start of season Forum.

I have found in the past difficult to even find the fixtures list on the web site. I think it gave the current week but far too difficult to find info on games in a few weeks time.

Yeah, its pretty poor. I'd imagine the league press department are in charge of it, as the news type stuff on it isn't bad but basic things like fixtures and tables are pretty poor.

Also no reason why a site like that shouldn't be chock full of video and audio.

Against all the criticism, though, it does have Brian de Salvo.

Yeah, i'd agree with ya there, he is quality to be fair. Here is the latest one.

Odyssey

There is a club to which I have been elected. There are no fees and membership is open. The only condition is a passion for football and a regard for others. It is a fellowship that wraps its arms around me every time I step into a League of Ireland ground. The season ended with the FAI Cup final at the RDS yesterday. The match was drawn but, because we must have winners, the trophy goes to Dalymount. A penalty shoot out was an unsatisfactory way to settle a game that can stand for what was best in a turbulent campaign.

Bohs had won the League long ago but for me they did it during the opening seconds of a game in Cork back in August. Neal Horgan whacks a searing through ball from the right flank. Denis Behan chests it into the path of Dave Mooney who has to move wide to skip past Owen Heary but he’s through and strikes for goal. It’s only because of the angle that the ball is within Bohemian keeper Brian Murphy’s reach but it is hit so fiercely it seems to be past him in a flash. But no, the keeper leaps high and jack knives back to palm the ball over his goal!

The email feature has never worked and I have mailed the FAI loads of times about it but never a reply

And they had the audacity to insist that clubs must have an up to date website as part of licencing!!!!!!

It's not audacity. It's actually a pretty reasonable and easily fulfilled requirement. The problem here is hyprocracy: do what I say, not what I do. Well, that and it's just inconsistent. Yes, require good media relations by the clubs, but match it yourselves.

Point taken John - hypocricy from the FAI - now why didn't I think of that!!!

The official league website should be the first point of call for all things LOI! I have often gone into the site on Saturday mornings and there are no results from the night before not to mind match reports!!!
