St Pat's release nine players
St Patrick's Athletic have released nine players from their squad, including Alan Kirby, Glen Fitzpatrick and Gary O'Neill. The majority of eircom League clubs will be operating with reduced finances in the 2009 season and Pat's have moved quickly to trim back their playing staff.
Lance Friezs, John Frost, Stephen Brennan, Stephen Paisley, Jaraslow Bialek and Dave Rogers are the other players that have been let go. All of the departing players were out of contract.
I'm surprised! I thought Kirby, O'Neill and Paisley are actually important players for St. Pats. Hard decision that they don't get a new contract.
