Profile; A 14-year-old called Freddy Adu is set to become the latest sensation to hit the football world.


The USA international, already been compared to former child prodigy's such as Pele and Ronaldo, sensationally made his debut for the U-17 national side in March at the tender age of just 13.


Adu's burst onto the international scene was instant, managing to find the net and grabbing an assist in his debut against Jamaica in a World Cup qualifier.

I heard of him about a year ago some guy on soccernet did an article on him, and he spoke of him in similiar terms as you, and it is reported that ManU are the closest to signing him and he has already trained at Carrington, so i guess its watch this space.:ball:

he's pretty well known at this stage, Nike have a boot deal lined up with him already. he'll be at United by the time he turns sixteen by all accounts.

It's hard to know how a "child prodigy" will turn out, really, although Adu is by all accounts an absolutely excellent player even at this early stage.

About seven or eight years ago I saw an article on Futbol Mundial about two Spanish hot prospects: Ivan de la Pena and Raúl.

One went on to be one of the greatest fowards of all time while the other is rotting away in Espanyol's B team...
