My posts were also deleted. Its because you disagreed with a Limerick fan who happens to be a mod. He PM'd me calling me a clown but sure he's a mod so that's fine.

Bit like Phibsboro' yeah, a hotbed of football:rolleyes::rolleyes:
Dundalk.
Louth needs a team in the Premier next season. No use UCD getting relegated if just replacing with another Dublin team. With Shamrock Rovers leaving Tolka was hoping would not have to go their next season.
City fanzine no more plastic pitches can be restarted!

Good news for visiting fans next season, the railway bar which has been closed for a year or so (2 minute walk from oriel for those who dont know the area) is due to re-open any day, twice the size, restuarant etc, good timing by the owners !
Hopefully we can now change from thurs nights to either fri or sat, time to move on from that and to utilise the huge extra away support it would attract. No reason we cant as we have both bars up and running now

Any chance of a friendly?
If Dundalk are to get a Premier licence they should be forced to play their games at the weekend & not then mid week nonsense.

The third bar will be opening in July will it?
I agree that we should definitely change to a Friday night or a Saturday night to accommodate away fans. Maybe a Saturday for teams that have to travel any distance with an agreement they do the same for our fixtures (much like we had with Cobh last season). I know we probably don't have much money due to the development of the training centre but i think we need to improve the away section to bring it up to premier division standards even if only some kind of temporary covering similar to the shed side.

SLK & Jebus, I can't believe you are at this again. Get your own ground to comply with the licencing conditions and then comment about elsewhere. And I am not going to turn this in to a game of insult tennis.

Do we have toliets with running water and lighting? Yes
Did Shels provide it last night for us? No
Run along and come back when your club is actually a threat to anything other than Kildare's status as worst team in the League of Ireland

Would you ever go away somewhere and mediatate or something? A bitter, bitter Shels fan comes on here cribbing about Dundalk's facilities the night after we're forced to use a toilet with no lights or running water and and all of a sudden I'm out of order and he isn't. Whatever man. Jackman Park is a kip. I couldn't agree more. That doesn't mean that I can't comment on the facilities in other grounds, especially when somebody who's clearly nursing a grievance comes out with ludicrous comments about Oriel Park.
Don't forget the lack of lightbulbs either
It really is all about the quality of lighting provided for us isn't it? :D

Let us have a comparrison on 2008, which is only our 2nd year as a club.
League cup finalists
2 Under 18 Irish Titles
Finished 7th in the league, up from 9th last year
Conor Sinnott named in 1st Division team of the year
Conor Sinnott in last 3 for 1st Division player of the year
And (you'll love this one) Seanie O'Shea runner up for Groundsman of the Year
Yep, we must be bad

OK, I have read all the posts on this thread. This is the last time I will be adding my two cents to this mb. I have followed Shels for 15 years, I have been through some indescribable highs and some heartbreakin' lows. However, last night was a low even by Shelbourne's standards...a really sad night for everyone who has stood by this club. I genuinely would not wish this on anyone. Over the last 15 years, I have experienced a lot of "hatred" for certain clubs but have never seen anything like the bile that has been poured on our club since last night. In football, rivalry is everything...it's the fabric that bonds your support together. However, the stick we have taken last night is not about rivalry...it's about pathetic bitterness. I have supported LOI clubs on numerous occassions in Europe in the past and feel bitterly disappointed that the supporters of the same clubs are revelling in this. Never again will I pay into an LOI ground unless Shels are playin' there. I am considering givin up altogether at this stage to be honest.
Finally, I would just like to say - the LOI is pathetically supported and maybe some of you on this mb are to blame for this for perpetuating the stereotype of LOI supporters having a chip on their shoulder. I won't ever post on this site again.
Forza Shels. We will eventually rise again.

Maybe.
Or maybe it's clubs like Shels spending ludicrously and going to the wall while allowing midget filth to follow them all over the country.
No you're right though, it's probably someone elses fault, never shels, ever.

You should have listened to the crap i have recieved all year from shels supporters here and especially on boards.ie, talk about bitterness:rolleyes: so please do me a favour and take it elsewhere. Oh wait you are.:p
Happy to dish it out but cant take it.
Ever asked yourself why your club is getting treated this way. Maybe something to do with the attitude of some of your fans. Of course not i hear you say. That would mean shels might actually admit to causing some of their own problems and thats not the shels way. Its everyone else's fault right

I can quite understand why we're hated.
A section of our fans have a superior attitude to every other team in the country.
Plus we have an obnoxious skooligan element.
Plus Ollie, Lord rest his soul, was a much misunderstood man.(If I knew how to do a smiley, I'd do one)
I do however see Higgo's point about the petty nature of this board. I usually end up depressed coming on here and seeing the same old stuff trotted out (and yes, by Shels fans too) All clubs have genuine decent fans as I'm sure everyone on this board is aware if you travel around the country with your team.

Add in winning a League title whilst in breach of Licensing.

We have already been punished for Administration. What the courts decide we pay the creditors has nothing to do with the FAI. The FAI are only concerned with players wages which will have to pay by end of this month to get Premier licence.
Will the FAI punish Harps, Ramblers, Bray etc... for cutting their players wages during the season?

Don't know how true that is L4S, most of the people that I know from OP like the Thursday nights. The whole revenue from Friday night rental of the lounge only leaves Saturday night as a viable option and we never had the crowd when we played then.

Personally, I'd prefer moving to the weekend as it's a pain to get to Dundalk and back to Dublin on a Thursday night. However, most Dundalk based fans would probably prefer to stick with Thursday alright.. There's not much else to do on a Thursday and sometimes birthday parties or other family events take place on a Friday or Saturday that would stop people from getting to Oriel..

Won't really affect me if we change, but i could see the opportunities it could bring. My sister is always livid with me taking my nephew as he has school the next morning so it'd be easier that way but i enjoy talking about the game on the Friday. Won't be tha same if we had to wait till Monday
