I took a halfday and went to this yesterday. It was depressing. We were a total shambles. For a squad that has been together for the last 2 weeks they looked like they didn't know each other. NI had lost 6-0 v England at Ballymena earlier this month and they looked streets ahead of our side.

I thought Danny Purdy and Robert Maloney (going forward) looked good for us. The sub keeper Dean Smith made some great saves. Hanlon in goal didn't much wrong either and was totally exposed.

Jonny Cosgrove of NI looked a class player. McLellan scored 2 well taken goals for them too but missed at least one sitter.

I wasn't there on Monday night but I believe our defence was another shambles that night.

With our U17s being knocked out of the UEFA championships by Luxembourg we may have some lean times ahead.

I was there monday night and indeed it was a defensive shambles, 2 crosses into the box not defended and then a goal direct from a corner. Going forward we looked ok but what ever coaching the back four got it was like they had never seen a football before.

Decent crowd on Monday night 300-400 people there

Givens out!

I agree, but isn't it Vincent Butler who looks after these teams

its hard to know sometimes with these youngsters but getting stuffed to norn iron and not getting results against luxembourg aint good signs

And the Luxembourg seniors have done something that Ireland have not done in 20 more years and thats beat a decent team away from home (Switzerland 1 Luxembourg 2)
