Did anyone else see Sky's coverage of the England game last saturday?

At half time, they cut to the add break, with anothe clip of Beckham skying his penalty. Then, what is the first ad? A clip of David Beckham taking a penalty with an oval ball, skying it and saying "Perfect".

It's been well documented that he ain't the sharpest tool in the drawer but surely he couldn't have got mixed up, could he?

No he couldn't. What actually happened if you look carefully at it is that his trailing leg went from under him just as he kicked the ball. Hilarious as it was, there was no way it could possibly take my mind off Switzerlands farcically easy win over us.

Twas a statement of the obvious, maybe, but face it, things like that DO happen, and could happen to anyone. Anyhow, Turkey were a disgrace and England were well worth their draw. Still funny though.

Watched the match in de Welsh capital and they enjoyed the penalty as much as the Irish. Just like home.
Spent the day in O'Neills watching Ireland, England and then Wales. Nice pint of Murphys and all. :)

Same could be said about the Utd-arsenal game a few weeks back. Absolutely nothing to write home about, but the media storm over it. Give us a break, like, these 'incidents' couldn't have been less trivial.
