Statement by Roy Dooney, Commissioner of the eircom League
12th September 2001
The eircom League will observe the National Day of Mourning announced by the Taoiseach to take place on Friday 14th September. All eircom League matches on that day have been postponed.
As a mark of respect to those killed and injured in the terrible events in the USA two minutes silence will be observed before all eircom League matches taking place between tomorrow and Sunday next.

NOTE TO EDITORS: The matches postponed on Friday 14th are:
Bohemians v Monaghan United
St Patrick’s Athletic v Bray Wanderers
Athlone Town v Kilkenny City
Waterford United v Cobh Ramblers
All other eircom League matches on Thursday 13th, Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th September will be played as scheduled.
