Kevin Doyle ''We’ll be more solid and more able to win the game. And my view is that whoever we’re playing on Wednesday – even it was Brazil - I would be expecting to win.''
i think that says it all. whatever trap has done in the last few months has clearly changed the complete outlook of the team. does anyone else have that same feeling we all back in 2001/2002?

Good piece in Sunday's Indo with Richard Dunne. He says that Trapp just doesn't care what the media says about him and that his confidence has rubbed off on the team.

I think Trapattoni has earned the right to not care what is written about him, or his teams. They're organised, efficient and, most importantly, successful. Your average red top writer isn't any of those.
What's actually heartening to me is that all the talk before the game is of winning, not revenge. I always thought that winning should be the primary motivation and anything along the lines of "we owe them one" actually encourages the opposition.

the mentality I get listening to the Irish players is quiet confidence; not just in themselves but the coach & backroom staff. The idea that from top to bottom there's stability and confidence in each other. It bodes well.

Lets just hope that they don't ruin all the good work by employing another pretender as his replacement in 1.5 years.
