I spoke to a few players Saturday night at our game and they all fully understood clubs would dictate wages next season and not player demands.

Given what Fran Gavin told the media on Saturday (and the attendees at the Fans Forum earlier) that 75% professional contracts expire at the end of this season, then I'd re-phrase that: The players have a problem.
Stephen McGuinness said quite a few were coming to him asking if they should be taking part-time jobs.
The bottom line is that the money is not in the league to support 5 or 6 full time teams, or pay loadza players more than 1K a week.
The Scandinavian model of train in the morning and a part-time job in the afternoon is the way to go!

One player I know is looking to leave for the UK as it offers greater job security

id imagine anyone good enough will go. But the majority of players wont get a contract across the water

> Rubbish. Playing the clubs off against each other :rolleyes:If we had competent people in charge the clubs would offer what they could afford and leave it at that.
Yeah but football clubs usually are not run by sensible biz people, they are run by egomaniacs who take stupid risks and stretch themselves too far. They players and agents know this and take advantage / the pi$$ at times.
>Why exactly cant he cry 'poor mouth'?
Ok, his current contract hasnt been honoured but its greedy players like him who partly have the league in the mess it is in.
He is a snake who sold out to Dublin for a bob extra. Cork should never of took him back. If a Rovers player who we had brought through and given a chance too fecked off for a few quid more to Cork Id be disgusted and wouldnt ever want to see him back.
