A mountain out of a molehill as I said on the other thread. Nothing deserving a write up on RTE. Not great publicity admittedly but sure when do we get good publicity these days. It's a season of treading water and trying to keep the show on the road. Can't imagine next season will be very glamorous either but sure if we can meet our budget and see how we end up that's about all we can hope for. Try and build on this season's fundraising events and be thinking of new ones. Our trophy chasing days are behind us for now.

Is first prize a protracted lawsuit? ;)

Longfordian, there is no mountain, though the molehill has maybe gotten more coverage than it deserves, given it's only popped up on the LoI minefield.

Not so much now John no, but for an hour or two earlier it was second lead story on Aertel football section and the RTE website. Somebody obviously decided it wasn't worth such prominence and removed it from Aertel and moved it way down the stories on the site. It's more annoying that the knockers around town will use it as a stick to beat the club with than anything else. People shouldn't go believing all that was quoted in that article as gospel either but I can't really get into that as it's been settled.

Unfortunately and I would like to point out Mr Beer HAS A PART IN THIS POST, the people around the town of Longford in general are a shower of cAnts. They use everything as a thing to beat the club with. No one in general seems to give a **** about the club from the town (I know the exceptions) give them a final and they will be there.

**** the lot of them.

Thanks, been out of the loop for the last week. That is a shocker. Another bit of negative publicity for us.

Is everyone else over looking the fact that there was an issue with the lotto that either incorrectly cost the club €3,000 or brought another air of distrust upon the club.

The clubs name is everything to it at the moment and this brings it to new lows.

.

It highlighted how the lotto system needed improving. The new Lotto will hopefully be run in such a way so as to eliminate situations such as this. The matter was settled rightly or wrongly so there's not much more can be said on it particularly as the licence application has yet to be offically approved though the judge apparently said he sees no reason why he won't grant it on Tuesday. I'd imagine the settlement was motivated by trying to show goodwill and an effort to keep the club's reputation intact though perhaps it should have included a confidentiality clause .
