Laptop won't connect to wireless

The modem that I have is working fine but my laptop won't connect to the wirless network. It's still able to pick up the signal of the modem however. It was OK up to recently and had been used for a couple of years. Anyone have any ideas how to fix this? Don't know what other info to post as I don't know what settings would be relevent.

Nothing at all.

Is the wireless enabled? Firewalls also sometimes effect wireless connection. Try turning your firewall or anti virus software off and then see can you connect.

Just turned the laptop on and it was connected. Didn't do anything to it...
