Great game to watch. Limerick prob should have nicked it with the two one on ones and at least now if they beat cork they can go through. mgarry was limericks best player. Thought kerrys best player was conway on the right. Referee was shocking, i wouldnt be suprised if he didnt ref a game for a year after that performance.

agree with you on the referee.it would be between purcell and mcgarry for limerick best player for me.both were excellent on the day.thought myself that the kerry centre back with the grey hair, think his name was hayes was there best player.one of there forwards looked very lively also.all in all a good entertaining game.real end to end stuff in the second half.

waterford have pulled out of the comp. according to the junior soccer section in the star today

Ye, no one wanted to manage the side. Pretty poor considering how well the Waterford clubs have done in the last number of years in national competitions

honestly i dont know he was playing last year for ballydehob in the premier division, i only play west cork league 2nd division and dont get to play against him. i cant get match reports from west cork league games so i cant check either right now either. There might be a match report from the game against desmond league and ill check, but i wont make the match in limerick.
He must be old enough at this stage

Yes it was a fully deserved win for Mayo after a slow start. Mayo had all the chances in the second half and Peyton in the Mayo goal had only to cut out crosses.

Mayo were by far the better team and should have won by more. Dessie needs to be more clinical in front of goal. Galway seemed to lack discipline and were not expecting to be beaten by Mayo. Mayo's plan seemed to upset the Galway pattern.

Do you know who else has qualified? I believe Roscommon beat Clare 3-2. When is the next round on or when will the draw be. It is only the top team in each group that qualifies this year.

Wexford beat Kilkenny 2-1 so they're through too as far as I know. Two very good wins against the Leinster Senior and Kilkenny.

id disagree with you there balbec77,i thought bit was a good competitive game.kerry were no easy side.thought kerry were better in the 1st half but limerick really came into there own after conceding the 1st goal early in the 2nd half.the ref was shocking in fairness, talk about home town decisions.made alot of dodgy decisions.great save by russell for the peno. limerick should have had 2 more goals.missed 2 one on ones to win the game.sherlock got sent off with only minutes remaining.it was nearly in injury time.2 yellow card frees.they were about the only thing the ref got right imo all day.i thought all 11 played well in the 2nd half with purcell and goggins being the best of bunch for me.guerin and cummins have the makings of a good front partnership.a draw was probably fair on the balance of play and with kerry now out of the competition limerick have it in there own hands against cork in the next game at home to progress.

Clinical?!

A goal a game, what more can you ask for off a striker? 2 decisive goals at that...

LDL Team:
Russell
Goggins
Purcel
McGarry
Sheehan
Grant
Bourke
Hartnett
Ryan
Cummins
Guerin
used subs: Heffernan, Harrington, Boyle

LDl raced out of the blocks and went 2 up in the first 10 mins, Cummins and grant getting behind the cork defence. Further chances followed and hit the post on a number of occasions but could not finish cork off.
2-0 half time

Second half cork score from a free kick, then from a cross on their right and a header at the back post, and a ball through the middle during play and the winger held off the ldl left full to slot home.
LDL came strong and had a number of really good chances but could not find the net.
Cork advance from that group..

chronic defending, very poor finishing(missed at least 8 scorable chances),bad goalkeeping for the 1st and 2nd goal, and afew tactical decisions wrong by the management.thats my opinion on the limerick defeat anyway.had it in total control and made a bags of it against an average cork team.

its a pity because by all accounts aidan had a very committed squad this year.individual mistakes cost them on the day.

great game to watch, also thought russell very poor for two of the goals, how limerick lost this one is hard to believe as they totally outplayed cork in first half could have been four up.to concede three goals in ,was it fifteen minutes was a disaster though i fail to see what management could have done about that but they still should have scored a couple of goals after that missed some sitters.in fairness heard the squad were good to train and that ryan was very professional in his approach.

have to agree that there was nothing management did wrong on the day or throught the year. The squad/team were good enough to advance but individual mistakes onthe day cost them...
maybe expectations were high after last year and the players got a bit relaxed at half time after being 2 up...
