Limerick lease site for training centre

eircom League of Ireland First Division club Limerick 37 has secured the lease of a six-acre site at Knocklisheen, which will be developed as a state-of-the-art new training centre. A long-term lease has been agreed by Limerick and the Department of Defence, which owns the land, for its use.

The development of a modern training centre was a core factor in the long-term plan put in place by new owner, the Irish-American businessman Jack McCarthy, and chief executive Andrew Mawhinney earlier this year. The new centre is expected to incorporate two full-size pitches, one of which will be all-weather, a number of five-a-side cages and car parking for 60.
