Shell Ireland said it is seriously concerned by the threat posed to its staff and the general public after a 'viable' explosive device was found at its Dublin office.

Last night, army bomb disposal experts made safe an explosive device at Lower Leeson Street.

The device, which gardaí described as viable, was found near the entrance to Shell Ireland's headquarters at Corrib House at around 10pm.

I wonder why someone would plant a device there?

Great name for the building though :D

Apparently the Shell to Sea crowd have denied involvement. I wonder how technical the "device" was?

Viable device might mean had the components but maybe not assembled correctly?

The problem with protests like that is the hangers on who don't represent the majority & cannot be controlled.

Still liking the name of the building

It was most likely a frame up. Dirty tricks to try and mould public opinion and give the branch an excuse to call to people's houses rather than just photographing them. As you said Pete. why would you bother?
