View Full Version : Saving Cobh Ramblers
Lads,
PCPLOD sent me the below and asked that I post it. It's a long document so I've only placed the first para below and the rest can be read here (http://www.cobhramblers.ie/scr.doc) It's in Microsoft Word format.
The PDF version is here (http://www.cobhramblers.ie/scr.pdf)
FUNDRAISING PROPOSALS – July 2008
The following proposals were put down on paper after conversations I had with other committee members, particularly with John Lawlor over the phone while on holidays. I realise that some of these ideas might have since become obsolete with the fast pace of recent developments. Hopefully, some will still be of value to the debate and situation which the club now finds itself.

some very good ideas i would agree but the problem here is that the club has about 5 or 6 different groups all with different agendas and running to the press every 5 minutes. Until the membership is united as 1 group then the club will never move forward at all.

I agree.
If we make it to the end of the season and somehow we are given a future in football then a total shake-up is needed.
By that I mean everyone involved behind the scenes of this football club has to go so as to allow a new generation come in because it's the bitterness thats holding us back.

Everyone??
Why bold the "if", why the negativity?? why advertise to the nation that you think were gone, why cant members of this club, keep the dirty laundry in house. ****es me off so much.
Blame game doesnt work for me, i want to think about how to get out of the situation before having to hear that mr.A is the problem and then hear mr.A say its mr.B's problem, i'd love for either mr.A or mr.B to sort the club out, get us money and then for either a or b to say that i sorted the club out and mr a/b didnt. Accept the fact we have financial troubles and its our clubs fault, every single member, that we let ourselves get to this situation(myself included), but ask yourself the question, what can i do for cobh ramblers??

By the way i disagree 100% with the motion that everyone behind the scenes step down, i wont name names but theres one member i particularly feel sorry for, people complained that he wasnt on the committee from months yet he only in the job a month, and i have to say i'm very impressed with the man, the last meeting the same people asked for every memeber of the committee to step down?? Baffles me??

I wasn't being negative it's just at the moment everything is 50/50 and our future is a very big IF at the moment.
