Drogheda United 0-5 Longford Town
This is just delightfully ironic. We play two games and score five, conceeding none while Drogheda play Longford, score none and let in five!
I'm half utterly delighted and half sorry for Doolin. Even without the Doolin-factor I'm glad that the Drogs lost, it means the relegation fight is a little bit easier for us now. That's basically like losing four points for Drogheda when you consider the damage that was done to their goal difference.

I was just thinking tonight how sweet it would be if he went down with Drogheda and we stayed up. :D

I am a firm believer in a thing called momentum in team sports. Especially football. And if you look at the way things have gone for Doolo since he left us the momentum has not been with Drogs.
Where as in the last 2 matches it has clearly been with College.
The prospect of UCD staying up and Drogheda going down is looming large on the horizon. But whether Derry go down or Drogheda go down, I could care less, as long as we stay up !
If we stay up this year we'll never go down!
nothing like seeing your former boss' team plummet whilst you do well, is there...
a lot of people might give UCD stick but if youse get out of your troulbe you will have earned your safety...

@ndy
Let's take one season at a time .
Pete Mahon has a lot of experience of managing a team with no transfer budget and minimal overall budget from his time with St.Francis. He managed to steer them out of the re-election zone most of the time he was with them in the First Division.
The lessons learnt there can be brought to bear at Belfield.
The future is looking decidedly brighter since himself and Eddie came to the club and a positive result on Friday will go a long way to keeping us up. But we have to maintain our recent rate of progress.

Winning 6-0 in Drogheda with six differant scorers is kind of similar. As we shall see next week (touch wood).
