is there anyway to manually edit players names in the new PES or does everything have to downloaded? Don't have my my xbox hooked up to net so a bit screwed

Ah sure an hour of editing will solve the transfers thing.

I like it, the legend thing is good but very frustrating, **** player you have like. And when your team doesnt do the right thing, i'd be ****in screaming at the tele!!!

Ive started having trouble recently after been fine for a long time, i was on a wireless connection which was fine but a tad slow on COD so i went to a wired connection through my router , that worked brilliantly upuntill about a week ago and now for no reason i keep loosing the connection. so now ive taken to plugging into the modem directly which was fine for a while but now even that is giving problems. its doing my head in

I was having the exact same problem from like the 14th to the 18th, it seemed to fix itself.

So what is the verdict for thoose who played both FIFA & PES, whic is better for gameplay etc?

I had pre-ordered PES 2009 but it never arrived and the company said they would be sending me a claim form in which I could claim a refund or replacement. Wondering if I should go ahead and order a replacement PES or get refund and order FIFA instead. Always been a PES fan but looking at this thread is making me reconsider

i've had xbox pro evo for a few weeks, it's better than last year but it's frustrating that it's still **** compared to pes6. got a ps3 & fifa on thursday, kinda getting a bit better at it now and it's prob marginally better than pes but not miles better and still has negatives. 1 thing that defo makes fifa better is the flawless online

So most people would recomend FIFA over PES then? Always been a PES fan which is the main reason why I odered PES but from reading here it looks like PES 09 is a big let down.

PES 2009 arrived in the post this morning(they must of just sent a replacement) only played a few games but seem good so far. Don't see why people are complaining about transfers not updated cause some editing easily solves it. PES seem to comsintrate on gameplay rather than having all players up to date

Yes - and there is also an official update which augments the above. PES is still a great game imo. Online mode seems to have improved with the new update as well. Sure there are a few negatives but it is still a better game than FIFA for me.

Just got FIFA09 recently IMO PES09 is a far superior game. The only things FIFA has over PES are. It has LOI and more leagues an players than PES and the transfer system in better.

The one thing that really annoyed me about PES is that the transfer system. Its based on points system rather than money, and it almost impossible to sign some players regardless of what club you are. I was playing as Man U and was on a full bar in the super team level, I tried to sign Benzema(several times) and a few other top players but just couldn't despite making maximum bids and maxim wage offers to the clubs some of which were only B team level.

But the opposite seems to be true in FIFA its to easy to sign some big players fo realitevly cheap. And FIFA09's gameplay is often sluggish and falls long short of PES in gameplay.

All in all my marks for both are:
FIFA: 7/10
PES09: 8.5/10

Don't see how you can say that FIFA's game play is average at best. They seem to have used most their money on getting the licences or all the big leagues and players rights, whilst PES used the money on gameplay. But to each their own

Have to agree. Been a PES fan for years but this year FIFA has wiped the floor with PES and i've been a FIFA hater for years

Mainly playing the be a pro mode on FIFA. I like the fact that you play for reserves first before breaking though to 1st Team and the fact that there is more clubs.

But the fact you can improve your skills with exp. points is unrealistic and stupid prefer the more steady way it happens in PES09 though playing well. Also the fact you can start for pretty much any club and the fact you play 90 minutes of every game is very unrealitic. Read on the cover that the Be a Pro mode only last 4 seasons. is this true sound kinda limiting.

In manager mode you earn too much money for small clubs and its to easy to sign players that in real life would never sign for the club. Saying that its sometimes impossible to sign some of the top players in PES
