I have one of these.
It's not that hard to setup. Just connect it like a normal router to your PC, then all you have to do is get the settings on your laptop. I think a disc comes so you can install it. It will pick up the signal automatically. I had problems getting it setup but that was probably just me. :)
Definitely worth getting I would say and doesn't seem all that complicated.

I am not familiar with NTL broadband but if it is cable broadband then make sure you get a router that supports this and does not need a phone line to work.
It is easy set up a wireless router for broadband. Just change one setting in the router (Turn off DHCP) and away you go as your broadband that is connected to it will be assigning the ip address for your laptop to connect.
Plus Linksys routers are far better quality signal wise than Netgear
I've NTL broadband, and a Netgear router. I don't think you need a Netgear router specifically. As Battery Rover said make sure any router you get supports cable broadband. Go into PC World (or similar) and the various router boxes will tell you whats suitable.
I use mine for the wii and haven't had a problem with it yet (plenty of times running the same time as the PC)

Our club one works for my laptop and even in the press box but not for Athlone or Shelbourne people somehow!
