Bloody cant wait for this evening !! I just cant predict this game really cause i havent seen Montenegro. I went for a 2-0 win against georgia which we should have had. Im gonna go for another 2-0 prediction. Hopefully we can cope with the early pressure keep it tight get into the game and score before half time and maybe nick one late in the second half. fingers crossed.

2-2 draw as the Bulgarians - Robbie and Macgeady to open account - I expect opposition to score and we may concede a penalty also ! -they have very tricky forwards!

Im gonna be ultra confident and say 3-1 with Doyler, Robbie and McGeady scoring.I think they have enough to cause us some problems going forward but I think we are solid enough to hold out and we will keep hitting them on the break and they arent great at the back

I think Robbie Keane will score, he has an excellent record under Trapattoni. Head says score draw, heart says away win. Those 2 never agree...

lads if we win tonight we could have a max of 15 points before we go away to italy. i think we can beat bulgaria at home and we will take 6 more against cyrpus and georgia at home. tonight could be crucial if we want to qualify as potential group winners i believe.

A close game, 1-0 to Ireland with a good few hairy moments. The man of the match will either be Dunne, O'Shea or Given due to several last-ditch tackles and saves.

In this day and age though, is it really such an argument? Professional footballers & all that; surely their training and fitness would help them cope in the heat. Plus, is this typical weather for the region? The home team may not be too chipper either.

I don't know, you tell me?
You get used to your regime and you build up fitness around your own regime, if that regime or environment changes the level of fitness goes out the window.

Yeah i've said before we are well capable of having 15 points from the first 5 games. Tonight is gonna be a big test of character and if we can get over this hurdle the confidence will be sky high with the following three at home. I just hope we don't bottle it

I'm rattling here with memories of Mexico game WC 94 type heat. If Montenegro is freezing in the winter the heat should affect them as well. I can see us winning this game 3-1 or 3-2. We are creating plenty of chances and Robbie Keane is due another goal or two. If we win this game then anything is possible.
Torn between 1-1 - Keane and a 2-1 victory for Montenegro. Don't see us coming away with a victory at all.

Gonna be a tricky match, however with confidence high from Saturday, a world class manager, Given in outstanding form, and the forward threats of Mc Geady, Keane, Doyle and Hunt I think we can win this won 2 - 1. (Keane with both - one from play and one a pen after hunt brought down in the box)

2-1. Goals from Doyle and Kilbane. I nearly put 2-2 down but I think O'Shea will make a heroic block in injury time to win us the 3 points. I'm watching this at home tonight so no beer to numb the tension.

Oh for god sake. Its only Montenegro, they are not going to take 6 points from us in this campaign, get real. They are no better whatsoever than Bosnia or FYR Macedonia and neither of them would take 6 points off of us in a group either

I agree. Im hoping for a crunching tackle in the first two minutes from one of them to set the tone for the game ala Roy keane back in the day. These are a new team and i think we have to try and physicaly bully them when possible. I think the match has a draw written all over it. Think it will be 0-0, very like our away game in Albania some 5 years ago

If Stephen Reid wasn't fit for tonights game and Liam Miller replaced him, how many people here would expect us to get a result, let alone win?
I know I for one would change my prediction from a 2-0 win to a 2-1 defeat. A couple of years back I would have defended Miller and said to give him a decent chance, but after consistently poor and lifeless performances he shouldn't be getting near the matchday squad. We'd be overrun if he played.

10/09/2008, 3:03 PM
The problem with Miller is he just does nothing. The word limited footballer was never more fitting for Liam Miller. He can pass the ball, but really does nothing with it, like a worse version of Tiago Mendes, a much worse version.

With the hot temperature factor, I wouldn't be so apprehensive if Miller comes on a sub.
I hope KK's mask doesn't melt into his face.

i think we'll go one up from our first or second corner with a ricardo duninho header,
then stephen reid will come off injured early in the second half, replaced by miller, unbalancing the team, they score in the last ten minutes...
1-1
and that wont be that bad a result but dissapointing none the less.

Yeah would definately change my prediction and be running to Paddy Power to cancel the bet!
