What is with Keeper keeper Mikko Vilmunen - does he play still for Drogheda? I can't find him in the squad on official site, but don't find anything about a transfer...

Vilmunen signs for Norwegians

Drogheda United’s Mikko Vilmunen has signed for Norwegian 1st Division side Alta IF on a free transfer.


The Finnish goalkeeper, who signed for the club in December 2006, has joined the 1st Divsion strugglers as they try to avoid relegation.


Vilmunen will be best remembered by Drogheda United supporters for his performance in the Setanta Sports Cup Final last year, where he saved 2 vital penalties to hand the Drogs their second successive title.


Everyone at the club wish Mikko the best in the future.
