'Hall took the lead with a Seamus Long header. Avondale equalised from a penalty by Mark O'Sullivan. Tony Tynan then gave them the lead. A David Moore og late on finished the scoring

How was wrong was i. Completely out classed although two injuries to liffey's best players didn't help. Still i was surprised after they turned over Bangor the week before.

Think Tolka will be the team to beat from Dublin. The addition of David Lacey from Killester has given them real firepower.

If the Dale have any complaints about the pen they would be mad, those decisions are given week in week out nowadays. Trailing leg caught Yelvy after he knocked the ball past him - easy decision for the ref.

If they do feel hard done by then they can count it as a huge portion of Karma (want an onion baji with that Korma JC? ;) ) after last seasons fiasco of a decision at Rockmount park in the league.

Tough game, ref was poor to both sides equally, two good headers for the goals in normal time. Usual nip and tuck between these two sides, shame one had to go out this early, but hey ho that's the luck of the draw.

Long way to go for Mount, bedding in 3/4 new players at the moment and it's coming along nicely. Will only get better hopefully through the season.

Billynomates
03/11/2008, 8:10 AM
Ya I agree the ref was poor. Players seemed to influence alot of decisions for the ref. Avondale should of had a clear penalty for handball but was waved away. Very good game. Rockmount better in the first half and were dangerous from set pieces. Avondale better in the second and had good chances to win it. When is the draw for the next round. Open draw now is it?

Thats a shocker. Tolka were one of the favourites along with bangor celtic. Bluebell were 40/1 to ein the competition before last night. Bangor celtic and Rockmount clear favourites now id say

All three USL teams away from home. Kildrum and Fanad would be fancied I would think, but Drumkeen are really up against it
