Both games are on Setanta Premium here in the US of A. That means you'll have to visit a decent bar to see it. I've already told everyone I have an important meeting on Wednesday so will be unavailable for 2 hours.
Of course, the Interweb is an alternative - there's usually someone streaming the RTE pictures.

And pay a $20 cover charge  Myp2p has it listed right now and I'm sure JustinTV will have something

That's great news, they don't seem to be covering the match on the 10th though unfortunately.

Will someone please explain to me what is going on? I went to a lot of trouble to get Setanta Sports so I could see the WC Qualifiers. According to them they were they only ones showing all of Irelands matches. Now I see that RTE are showing them also!
What is going on here?

Very simple. Setanta had the rights, got the publicity, got the subscriptions. They sold the terrestial rights to RTE for these 2 games.
They did not sell their England games to any UK channel.
It remains to be seen what will happen with the other games they have rights to.

The sketch on RTE from the Apres Match was the "Cellotanta" panel. It was very funny but slightly ironic insofar as RTE could only show a half screen (on my TV anyway) while Setanta, although originally only half screen, sorted out the technical difficulties and showed full screen.
Cellotanta indeed.

Setanta just stretched the picture.

Remember, Owlsfan is still trying to fix his Betamax.
Many modern TVīs have a varying number of selectable screen formats to stretch the 4-3 picture to acceptable proportions.

Stretching a 4:3 picture to 16:9 is just distorting the picture and making the players look shorter and fatter, I am sure Andy Reid is not happy about this :D
4:3 is generally better than widescreen for football as you can't guarantee the play will take place in any particular axis. Obviously in a film you can stick a hat stand in the horizontal axis to artifically fill the screen.
If you don't like the black bars at the sides buy a 4:3 TV like mine.
Films are only widescreen because cinemas are wider than they are tall.

Who said anything about stretching to widescreen format.
I wrote "stretch to acceptable proportions"
Widescreen is not an acceptable proportion for a 4-3 stretch.
The name to the screen format was either Super Live 2 or Cinema 2.
Looked very good.

:D Too true but no one can do it!!
The picture quality on Setanta was fine despite the stretch. Certainly preferred it to RTE.
