Derry City 0:3 Drogheda Utd.
Salthill Devon 0:4 Mervue Utd.

Cork City 0:5 UCD
Nangle 3
Shorthall 2

Limerick 37 3:1 Tullamore Town

Any one who wants a A champiuonship/ First Division play-off will take heart from two big mid-table results. mervue Utd have an easier run-in than Salthill.
Mervue play Derry City, Shamrock Rovers and Finn Harps in some order or other.

Drogs keep their challenge for the top going for another week.

St.Pat's and UCD play each other next week, 3rd versus first at present. But I believe Bohemian are the strongest team of the lot so far, but that is based on their dominance of group 1 and the senior team's record.

Are you sure those tables are correct?? The latest one would indicate that Harps lost 4-0 against Sligo, when in fact they won 4-0. Didn't check the other results against the table.

Week12 havn't been updated yet. The results from last week in this thread are Week 11, but the thread titled 'Week 11' is actually Week 12 of the competition.

I can understand why a club might feel they need another year etc before they are ready, but you have to ask if this chance will come along again in the near future, with so many clubs now showing interest in the A Championship

there's a free week next week and for some clubs free weekends in November.
Some of Group 1 games will have to be played soon, Shamrock Rvs - Drogs and the scheduled Drogs - Shamrock Rovers plus Mervues Utd's. last game to confirm placing in that group.

In group 2 there is less pressure on playing games. Two of the games could be played next week.

If Mervue won't play the promotion play-off it kinda demeans the whole purpose of the A Championship surely? Who's bottom of the first anyway these days? Kildare? It's pleasant to be experiencing consecutive seasons when I'm not familiar with the back end of the table. :p

I didnt mean that mervue wouldnt play the game, they are dead set on playing it and winning it, but they feel that a move into the LOI at this time would damage the club more than anything else as they have no cash at all to go paying semi pro footballers.

More FACTS originating in Limerick. Players get very basic expenses and compensation if they are not able to use a holiday to cover a day off work (though some are still in school)

Who confirmed it?

That play-off may be played at the end of/after the last game of the FAI LoI First Division. It shouldn't be expected earlier, but if it's two legged than one match may be played before than. But I wouldn't bet on it.
