First 10 in over a week. Still didn't beat Magicme or Schumi, what's the point of that.

What's the point of the italics? Are Magicme or Schumi books?

Maybe as I feel like a Slang Dictonary now!
Weren't too bad today either, a couple that took a bit of thinking about.
Also there were two that I'd got before, I wonder how many questions there actually are?
And I just have to get a mouse for this laptop, having to make sure you un-highlight the buttons before using the down arrow is doing my nut in!

grrr bloody internet slowed down so it reckons it took me 100 seconds. I was fast but still got 2 wrong. :-( Also how come with 3 wins I am still only in 5th when others have 2 wins but are above me. Like how do the points get calculated??
It's done on cumulative total scored MM, so sorry but :p
Nah the scoring is a bit random alright, it's pretty savage, literally! :D
A better indicator is your average points per game but even that isn't perfect.
Your score is based on how many people played that day, which is not fair IMO. You can get as little as 10 or 12 points for a win (as one of mine was), even if it's 10/10 in 50 seconds (which it wasn't).

gustavo,
So far you are doing very well.
I have more than a small problem with (how should i describe)........types from outside of Dublin.
I get 10!(TEN) and yet some people are ranked above me, just 'cos i fell asleep while I was answering some questions. It wasn't entirely my fault.
Falling asleep is something I will have to stay vigilant against.
(Masons; Mafiosi; Illuminati are not used in the above sentences. Be warned.)

Why are people complaining about a site based in America asking America specific questions ? They've every right to!

I think it has more to do with the fact no-one is likely to know the answer to baseball, American Football, Colleges etc questions. If they were on politics, geography, history then fair enough you'd have a chance.
Personally, I'd like the questions toughened up where, for instance, a good 9 or a fast 8 is in with a chance of winning, not just the fastest one with out a baseball question in it

Competition getting seriously hot now. I remember a time when 10 in around 60 seconds was good enough for a win. I managed my fastest ever today with 10 in 47 seconds and I'm still only 3rd 15 seconds behind Stann :(
Bound to hit a bit of luck eventually, didn't have to hum and haw over any today. Don't worry passinginterest, it won't last! :)
What was the fastest I wonder? I seem to remember a 28 or 29 one time?

I still say the questions should be a little harder, as it is turning into a speed competition rather than a quiz. 9 correct answers hardly gets you in the top ten anymore and people are only getting 9 if faced with an American sport/college question
A few days ago me and stann were the only two with 10...Of course I was second :o

Who lives in the East, 'neath the Willow Tree?
1. Buddha
2. The Wicked Witch
3. Sexual Harassment Panda
4. Pol Pot.
I didn't know so I put 'the Owl and the Pussy cat'.

The wicked witch, of course. Was she the one who was squashed or who melted?
It's getting faster in part because some questions are repeating. I got a really stupid question about operating the shace shuttle today for the third time (You've done this really technical bit; what do you do next? (a) Spacewalk, (b) sleep, (c) radio base and ask them what's next or (c) type OPC-218-Yfh into the command module and follow that up with two other really technical bits. Stupid question).

Might as well bump this again seeing as I had my best score in ages. Nice lucky guess on the last question, the coach of the 76ers in 2003!
Anyone else get loads of annoying pop-ups when they access it through IE? Seems to be happening a lot more the last few days.
Seems to have yesterday's competition still active today, what's going on, am raring to go but can't! :D
