Heard on the radio going to the Rovers game tonight that John O'Flynn was in London negotiating a Deal with Division 2 side Barnet. Disapointing to hear and big loss to the league.

Without doubt one of the best players to ever grace this league. Pre UCD injury, Flynny would probably be lining out for Ireland next week. Barnet is below Flynny but money is money and City can't offer him that.:(

I had heard Barnet manager Paul Fairclough say a couple of weeks ago he was heading across to Ireland to look at a striker, I was curious who in the Premier Division would be good enough but they could afford.
On a seperate note does anyone expect O'Flynn to succeed? He is not the player he once was & is never fit enough to put a decent run of games together, whats his record over the last two seasons?

Its League 2, if Flynny stays fit(which is unlikely, unfortunately), then he will walk that league.

Big 4 clubs here were obviously paying more than League 2 clubs, considering that O'Cearuill left Barnet for St. Pats. I can just imagine if O'Flynn had to fill out an application form to join a football club:
"Now John, in the space where it says 'State all the injuries you've had:', you have crossed out hernia, groin, metatarsil, hamstring, broken leg, ricketts, the staggers and smallpox, and then wrote 'none', what's up with that?"
"Oh, for a moment I thought I was Darren Anderton. I'm back to being John O'Flynn now"
"Uh huh........ welcome aboard!"

Hey, BunnyKelly.
It's great to see Kilkenny City back in e.L.o.I. footnall albeit
it a small capacity, but it's a start anyway. Is Jim Rhatigan
still involved with Kilkenny.
Due to financial situation at the club all the players are free agents. Last I heard he was having a medical but any ones guess if he could pass that. Our former Operations Manager is now the Commercial Manager at Barnet. His fitness issues are such that no club cold expect him to play more than half the games.

If they guy wasn't as injuried as he was all along then he would have been gone ages ago. He was probably the most skillful player to play at the club in all its history. We have only seen glimpses of his talent as he was dogged be injury.
Best of luck to him anyway, hope he does well.

Definately a case of what could've been had it not been for all those injuries. Best of luck to him anyway, no doubt he's easily capable of performing in that league.
Without doubt one of the best players to ever grace this league
You must be under 20
Fine striker though. Shame about the injuries. Hope he does well for himself

Definitely one of the best players to play at City though, i include Caulfield and Morley in there. the lads bagged loads of goals and they were great days but Flynnie passed some of their records and if he wasn't so injury prone he could have been unreal.
No disagreeing that that a face, and I'm on record as saying he's better than Doyle when fit BUT
Without doubt one of the best players to ever grace this league
the above line is rubbish
