The Irish Times have hinted that Colin O'Brien may start up front tonight against Pats.
I haven't seen anything of the lad since he was a sub in Santry against Rovers at the end of last season.
Is he up to much?
Speaking to a player after the Rovers game I got the impression that we'd see a lot more of him.
Anyone any info?

...suppose I should have referred to him as Colin O'Brien Jnr.

Don't know much about him. Is he a stiker in the Mulligan mode or is he a tall target man aka Hartigan?

From what I remember he is a small lad but not fat like Mulligan.
To be honest I was more interested in Murphy getting sent off for kicking the ball away.

Smells of desparation from Gunther just like playing Coughlan upfront last week :(

IMO O'flynn needs a few more matches before he can be judged!

Bring back Kelvin I say!!!!

Who are ye talking about? Where did this young Colin come from?

I think Mulligan and O' Flynn both look lively up front. The problem is not with them but with with the rest of the team hoofing the ball into touch instead of trying to pass it to our strikers.

AFAIK he's a 18 and came up from the youths.

Yeah, he's a young lad from Ballydehob (honestly). Capped by Ireland last June at an amateur youth international tournament in Italy.
He's also a programme editor's nightmare:

City Teamlist...

...
O'Brien, Colin
O'Brien, Colin
O'Flynn, Stephen
O'Grady, Conor
...

Any suggestions, besides 'Jnr'?

What position does the 'alternative' Liam Murphy play? Or is he being groomed as the next manager??!!

Think Colin O'Brien junior was onnthe bench at santry last year alright.

Think I remember them calling out the list of subs & being confused when heard Colin O'Brien Junior as wasn't too sure igf Colin senior old enough to have kids old enough if you know what I mean?

I'm just all mixed up

Colin O'Brien came on as a half-time sub last night for Steve O'Flynn. He showed some good touches for a big fella, though he does look a little light weight (a la Tony tynan and Dave Moore last season) yet. Should score a bucket load for the under21s. I believe, in addition to his trip to Italy, he has also travelled to Leceister.

Liam Murphy is also a striker, though has played on the wing for the youths. Another player who should feature prominently for the uder21s IMO.
