    Dear FAI...

stop overselling terrace tickets for friendlies you ****ers!! it's dangerous and a ripoff for the hundreds and hundreds of people who get turned away by the stewards because the terrace is full. Good riddance to lansdowne.

think they actually reduce capacity for night games. 44,000 capacity there last Wednesday as opposed to 48,000 previous Sunday for rugby match. Turn up on time next time!

Poor boy. You obviously never stood on the terrace in Dalymount when they had 40,000+ squeezed into the place. That's what life on a terrace used to be like. Ah the good old days - literally thrown forward in the heaving masses when there was a goal and almost squashed to death getting in and out of the ground. The terraces on Wednesday looked almost empty compared to those days.
Forget about the performance or entertainment. It's only the result that matters.

Lansdowne has a capacity of 49,000+ for rugby and I've been on the south and north terrace quite a bit there and never felt crushed. They only sell 44,000 for football and it didn't look in anyway crowded on Wednesday night. I was in the west upper.

Anyone explain why fans were getting turned away then with the reason 'the terrace is full'?
I thought you were off the drink Ronnie?

Were they getting moved down to the next section? Remember that happening when I was pushing kick-off close for the Brazil game - one section of the North Terrace was full, so the stewards were directing you around to the next. Means the terrace can fill up better.

There was plenty of room where I was on the North Terrace.
We're not arrogant, we're just better.

    Yeah loads of room there.

The south terrace is badly designed & poorly managed but not helped by people arriving very close to ko having spent too much time in the pub.

IMO the FAI should have beer tents like the rugby internationals which would at least ensure people come on time & make a few quid on the drink.

They fill the terraces in sections and it's a sensable policy. The only problem I have is the lack of communication between the stewards manning the various terrace entrances. None know which entrances are open at any given time and it means that it can take a few minutes wandering around the back of the north terrace looking for an open section.

It would help if they employed a semi-competent organisation that had people above the intelligence of the average mountain goat and not back passage. Acres of room on the north terrace.
