Very close to being a final score by now. Robbie Doyle sent off in the 18th minute, Scotland scored in the 26th minute. Scotland drew with Wales in their opening game...

He'll have to get his head screwd on better if he is serious about ever playing for Ireland (which he told The Mirror he wanted to before last year's Bohs-V- Rosenborg game).

I'd say won't be long before hes off to non-league football. Couldn't see anyone offering him a fulkltime pro contarct again.

Ah i wouldnt go that far ! he has a year and a half left on his Bohs contract, a lot of clubs would be very interested in signing him, and if roumers are anything to go by Derry, Waterford, Drogs, Shels and Cork would all like to have him in there ranks

Doyle is capable of being a very good footballer. He just needs to get a head on his shoulders.

Match Report:

Ireland's hope of winning the Four Nations tournament suffered a blow at Bellslea Park, Fraserburgh, tonight when Scotland took the honours with a two-nil scoreline.

Bohemians' (and ex-Bray) Robbie Doyle was harshly dismissed after just eighteen minutes for what the referee judged to be an elbow on the Scots' skipper, Ian Murray.

Despite playing well, the Irish could not hold out against the extra man.

Scotland took the lead eight minutes later when Michael Stephen fired home Barrie Stephen's low cross from the right from six yards out, giving Chris O'Connor no chance in the Ireland goal.

Ireland played well despite being a man down, with captain Daryl Murphy leading the line on his own up front. He broke on the left and beat the offside trap on the half hour only to shoot wide.

Murphy, Eamon Zayed and Colm James continued to create Ireland's best chances after that, and Murphy again beat the offside trap on 39 minutes only to see his cross roll past the face of the goal and wide as Zayed and James arrived in the box.

Just a minute later, the Scotland 'keeper tipped Murphy's header from a James long ball over the bar.

Scotland almost made it two when captain Murray's fine strike from 20 yards from a free kick on the left blazed just inches wide of O'Connor's righthand post.

The host team made their advantage tell again in the second half and were the livelier side after the restart.

Ireland had a let-off when substitute Philip Hobbins, only on the field one minute, blasted over from the penalty spot from Stephen's pull-back with the Irish goal at his mercy after 72 minutes.

Ireland continued to press forward in search of the equaliser, winning a succession of corners, and were unlucky to see two Alan McDermott headers go wide.

Scotland doubled their lead on 83 when captain Ian Murray headed home a flicked-on corner at the near post.

Ireland manager made a triple substitution with five minutes left, when John Flood, Willie Doyle and John Russell replaced Colm James, Daryl Murphy and John Lester respectively.

But Scotland held on for the win which lifts them to the top of the table along with Wales, who beat England by the same margin in tonight's other match.

A win against Wales on Sunday would give the eircom League squad a glimmer of hope, but even then the final result would depend on the fortunes of bottom of the table England.

5 of them ! Ah well, most people think of this as a watse of time and do not want their players involved so Devo's more then pleased to provide the talent ! Zayed, O'Connor, James, Flood and O'Reilly all have great futures ahead of themselves !
