Marc Wilson played the full game at centre back as Pompey went down 2 nil to Vitoria in the City of Guimaraes Trophy.
Darron Gibson started against Bayern
Its really not that complicated!!!

Shane Lowry used as Sub against Porto in the Peace Cup coming on for Carew after 64 minutes. Might be in a position to play Juventus in the final.
Not sure what position he is. Read that he's a left back, but he's down as a midfielder on the Villa website. Big enough at 6ft 1. We could do with both a left back and a defensive midfielder coming through - so, hopefuly he'll get a few more opportunities this season - especially as Villa are hardly blessed in either position.
I think he's a centre back, at least thats where he has played in the irish underage setup. With only cuellas and davies ahead of him(am i forgetting someone), he'll start the season on the bench at least. O'Neills comments about him are hopeful but sees him as one for the future rather than the present
O'Dea messed up for Sunderland's goal. Tried to control the high ball instead of just getting rid of it and let Richardson in.
Reid played well. Was allowed drift about the pitch. Had a great shot turned over for a corner and set up the 2nd goal with a right footed cross.
Liam Lawrence scored a heavily deflected effort against Derby
Scott Davies scored a free kick against Chelsea after Shane Long was brought down. Should be a good season for Davies.
Does anyone know much of the young Jamie Devitt at Hull? He volunteered himself for the first penalty in the Asia tournament the other day. Looks a decent player and is already in the U-19's. There was also a lad called Tom Cairney in their squad. I can't seem to find any information on him though.
Robbie Brady captained Man Utd to the Milk Cup, scoring five goals along
the way and apparently was named player of the tournament.

Quality link - well excited about this Kid - his goal was pearler. Even more excited about the fact that he isn't that much younger than Macheda who got his chance last season after scoring 6 in last year's tournament (which he would have equalled if he'd scored his penalty). Must be highly thought of as well if he's captaining the team - which is rare for a winger.
United's left wing is definitely up for grabs. Nani has one season to prove his worth and Tosic is yet to stake his claim. I know that Obertan can play there - but he can play in any position across midfield and is possibly more likely to play in the Scholes role. To have a goalscoring winger like that is a coveted asset the days - it'd be quality if he came through. We could do with a left winger as well.
We could have some midfield in the future with him on the left, McCarthy and McCann in the middle and Doran on the right.
The goal was defelected, no? If so it probably looked better than it was.
Fair point!
Cooly dispatched penalty past Buffon from Lowry(3.06)
Scott Davies could be set for a break through season at reading, seems to have an eye for goal anyway:

Got excited the other night watching Liverpool when a young lad by the name of Martin Kelly came on at centre half for Carragher, thought he was Irish but turns out he's an England U-19 his name's more Irish then mine surely he must have a few Irish connections with a name like that.
He's obvioulsy taken the English route similiar to the lad he replaced(Carragher) who's family hail from Limerick, pity!
Dunne and Ireland started for Man City in their 2-1 win over Celtic, who included Darren O'Dea and Willo Flood in the starting line up. McGeady came off the bench for Celtic.
Dunne captained the side as well
