You will pay for it doing it that way. Maybe easier, but a lot more expensive than organising it yourself. Basically all they do is get a sky card for a fictional irish address, just the same as people have told you too. Up to you I suppose...
has anyone gone to this site, people here have told me before that the only way to get sky in the uk is by registering an address in ireland and getting a contract for that address, however a friend of mine has gone to the above site and got an irish card for an english address i.e. he can watch the irish channels on his english box. has anyone else tried/used this?

You pay them a service charge annually. If you've a relation or even a mate you could get the sky card for cost.

ya but you know what dcfcsteve is doing, does that not mean that you have to be paying for a tv license in ireland anyhow, so the cost is probably the same overall i.e. this way you dont pay for a tv license.
however if you know someone at home thats prolly the best idea alright and just pay them for it.

FREESAT offered by sky offers people in NI and the UK to purchase a card that will allow them to view ITV and C4 along with the bbc but these are fta anyway and costs in or aroun 20stg. Get someone in either of the mentioned locations to order one then ya only need to activate it and away ya go.
150 for the cards is to much.
It's an annual fee in that region on top of your sky.Originally Posted by carricksmasher
I don't think there's any agreement in place for sky to give you details the Licence checkers. It's not like the UK, yet. Sure the company would have to buy licences for their fake addresses if that was the case, so they'd be charging alot more to the punter.

Doing it with an Irish address costs you nought other than the cost of your Sky Package.
No Irish TV license needed Paul - I'd love to know how they'd try to bill someone not even resident in the State (but if they could they'd probably try !...)
The "Luton Town ()" matches shown are Sentanta PPV are usually only available in the UK. If I got an Irish sky card is there a way of watching em?Originally Posted by dcfcsteve

i dont understand that, i thought you said they are biling you at an adddress in galway???? if so does that not mean you are a resident of galway? hence the tv license. tis funny i get so many conflicting things from people when i try to find these things out!!

"Luton Town" appears to be an Alias used by Liam for a certain SPL team.Originally Posted by dcfcsteve

- Even if there isn't - the people who live there are liable for any license - not me. It is they who would have a set that isn't licensed.
- Even if the government did somehow decide that I WAS liable - firstly, it would be thrown out of any court (not living in the State = not liable for the State's TV license). Secondly - how would they even be able to get things that far - you can't enforce something like that on someone who doesn't live, and has never lived, in the Republic.
Whoever told you that you needed an Irish TV license to get Irish Sky was pulling your plonker Paul, or warming-up for the next Baron Von Munchausen championships.....
I thought it seemed a bit unusual for the Hatters to get live coverage, errr, anywhere...!Originally Posted by Peadar

it was actually the other halfs father!! i must tell him that the next time i see him, im sure he would appreciate me saying that
but i still think what he says is right, he has a house back home and he doesnt have a license, he went to get sky and bring teh card over here, but he got done for a license and stop the contract.
but steve, there are ppl living at your address, hence they have a tv license, therefore i reckon thats fine, as a license is registered at that address already. over here if you get sky, sky give your details to the bbc so you are charged for a license. i assume its similar at home, but im not sure. i thought that it was breaking DPA but apparently not.
steve are your muckers "out of work and down".
