www.soccerbot.com goes back a bit further (although it's unwieldy to get results of individual games from it)
Apologies if this is in the wrong place. I'm looking to get hold of a list of league results from before the 2004 season. Can anyone point me in the direction of where i might find them online?
I've got as far back as 2004, but can't seem to find anything else.
Grateful for any help.

There are books available that give past league records re scores and tables.
I have copy of "Football in the Republic of Ireland, a statistical record 1921-2004" by Alex Graham. Easons may have back copies, or try a football book website, goodone based in Grimsby.
I have it at home. Interestingly it puts the home tome of each team in brackets after the name. for Derry it reads - Derry city (Londonderry)

As stated gives seasons scores in grid-table format, league table, top 3 league league scorers, and scores of FAI Cup from Q/Final to Final.
However probably best publication was by a Niall Macsweeney in conjunction with the Association of Football Statisticians and was from 1921/22 - 1984/85, same format as above but all rounds of FAI Cup, Sheild & City Cup scores and tables. North/South competition scores and results round by round of Leinster & Munster Senior Cups.
Cheers for all the help lads!
As an aside, what happened in the pre-season between the switch from winter to summer football?
Did one season finish and then the next just started up again pretty much straight away or how did they do it?
I wasn't in Ireland then.

The 2002/3 season was shorter than normal, started in July and ended in February. The 2003 summer season started in April and ended in December.
We're not arrogant, we're just better.
And there was a once-off first division cup played before the start of the league to make up for there being less games in the first division that season. Finn Harps won it.
You must be right as the 2003 final was in August.
A leading authority on League of Ireland football since 2003. You're probably wrong.
The two FAI Cup finals were in 2002, not 2003. In April Dundalk won the 2001-02 competition, in October/November Derry won the 2002-03 competition.

Any chance I could borrow it as I've just found a time machine and intend to go back and win a fortune so then when I return I will be the richest person in the world and Derry will win the champions league in 2010 with Torres and Ronaldinio scoring the goals. (BTW Messi missed a pen in the game for Derry as well) and Stevie Gerrard got sent off for us as well!
They will then show of the trophy in front of 30,000 fans in the new state of the art Brandywell stadium.
