Cork City FC Announce Partnership with The Stellar Group

Cork City Football Club are delighted to announce that they have agreed a partnership with The Stellar Group Limited. The Stellar Group Ltd is a global sports management consultancy that provides sporting organizations and professional sportsmen/women with a full range of services to ensure that their interests are wholeheartedly and efficiently represented, leaving them to concentrate solely on their sport. The Company was established in 1994, since when it has grown to become one of the leading football agencies in Europe, working with over 500 professional footballers throughout the World, including such well-known names as Ashley Cole, Peter Crouch, Louis Saha and Kolo Touré, and nearly 700 sports stars in total, including Irish horse-racing stars Tony McCoy and Ruby Walsh.

The Company now has offices in Scotland, Spain, Belgium, France, Germany, Holland, Bulgaria, Greece, Turkey, South Africa, Brazil and Argentina, as well as the head office in London. All agents are fully licensed for domestic and International transfers. This partnership is a continuation of Cork City FC’s wish to ensure that it receives the best and most professional advice and assistance possible.

This partnership will also mean that Cork City FC will have on hand the expertise, guidance and assistance of The Stellar Group Ltd. in the club’s efforts to strengthen the playing squad in our efforts to make Cork City FC a major force in Irish football, and further afield. "We're very excited about the opportunity to work with Stellar Group," said Vice Chairman, Jim Little. "Their unmatched experience in player development and management will be of great benefit to us as we expand the club. I've known the guys at Stellar for some time now, and we can really trust them to add another dimension of support and professionalism to our organization to serve the best interests of the club, our players, and our fans."

Stellar Group spokesman Peter McIntosh said “we are delighted to be involved with Cork City Football Club and we are looking forward to assisting them in developing their club and playing squad ready for next season”

Well whats all this then? Jim Little, our new vice chairman/investor obviosuly sees this as a good move. While it may be asking a bit much to be signing matty holland, an interesting piece was that they were responsible for the loan deals with Ashley Cole to crystal palace and glen johnson to milwall. they could see city as a good opportunity to see some of the young lads here to get football under their belts, especially with our alternative season providing that little extra availability for players that have been out injured or underused for the previous season.

Just going to have to see how this pans out.
I'd be sceptical of any third party involved in our transfers.
I'm also a bit confused asto wtf they are.
City definetly have the best bands playing at half-time.

    "Sports consultants".

A bit of everything really - help clubs find players/players find clubs, assign players agents (which might be better than "advisors"), help clubs in dealings with media and larger associations.

seems like exactly what we need.

A lot unknowns with this. Will this company represent the club in negotiations with other players and/or clubs? Who pays these "consultants"? How can they represent players & the club?
