Joe Gamble & Stuey Byrne would also have to be considered but Ndo is probably the form player at the moment alright.
Just wondering who people reckon is the best player in the league.
Pat McCourt, Joxer and George O'Callaghan would all be most people's list but having seen the form that Joseph Ndo is in at the moment, I would have to give him my vote. Make sure you watch TV3 tonight to see his goal from Friday.
A totally different player but another who deserves huge credit at the moment is Sean Dillon. What a signing he has turned out to be for Shels. He is very comfortable on the ball but doesn't take unnecessary risks and his partnership with Hawkins gives the likes of Ryan, Byrne and Ryan the base for them to show off their skills

Anyone who picks Joxer is an idiot. FACT!
O'Callaghan, Stuey Byrne or Owen heary for me.

maybe not one of the best but definetely one of the mopst in form Keith Foy-has been unbelieveable so far
Joe Gamble....but then again Im biased.
Current form Ndo would be there too
Mc Court for me all the others are good players and good professionals
But Pat can do things other players cant
Champions 2010
Champions 2011
Dick Brush 1 Sligo 0
Bohs are going bust.
Well apart from his fantastic back pass against Dublin CityOriginally Posted by KildareFan
Ndo for me is superb, best player in the league IMO.
Gamble gives him a run for his money though, superb player. Mentions must also go to Heary, O'Callaghan and Keegan from Drogheda who's had a great season so far.
Also they might not be the best players in the league but a special mention must go to Paul Keegan and Trevor Molloy whom have realy stood out for St. Pats this season, still plenty of life in the old legs.

Joey Ndo - it has to be, he is worth the admission fee alone. If he doesn't win this month's player of the month award, I'll eat my hat!
Who Cares?!
I think players have to be playing in european games to be considered as shows ability to move up to a higher level.
Joe Gamble. Honourable mention to Mick Devine - performances in european games have been consistently great.
So if Devine, for eaxample, doesn't compare well to Ryan, for example, in an el setting, that wouldn't preclude him from being thought of as the best keeper in the country because he's better than Dean delaney (and Dan Connor and Derry's keeper (couldn't tell you...) even though only a handful have seem them play this year in europe, and nobody has seen them all to compare...Originally Posted by pete

well he is not better than John O'Hara for Sligo Rovers.Originally Posted by Dodge

As for best player, everyone is going to say a player from their own team but the best player for me(outside Sligo Rovers) is Pat McCourt.
I know he is very quite during the game but when he gets the ball, you know he is gonna do something good.A bit like Ronaldinho or Henry.
Stuey Byrne,Joey N'do,Joe Gamble or Mick Devine
Darragh Maguire is quality too!
Joey Ndo, Pat McCourt, Joe Gamble, Georgie, Kevin Hunt, Stuey Byrne.
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.
Pat McCourt, Joe Gamble, Jay Gavin, Sean Dillon, Ndo, Jay Byrne, Johnny Martin(Biased but he doesn't get enough credit)
If god wanted us to play football in the clouds he would have put grass up there!
There are some players in the league with amazing talent who just dont raise their games often enough but when they do they're streets ahead of the rest, I'm thinking of the likes of Neale Fenn, Trevor Molloy and Jason Byrne in particular.
Otherwise Ndo, Joey Gamble, Stuey Byrne, Paisley
Oh no not them again
In fairness Dodge I don't think anybody would claim that Joxer is the best player in the league but he must be well in with a shout for best young player - he's only 19. In fact I can't think of anybody in the 18-21 bracket even close to his ability in our league.
Best player for me is still O'Callaghan.
Cogito ergo Bohs
Kildare Fan thought he'd be on most people's lists. He's talented alright but we've all see far too many talented players go by the waysideOriginally Posted by Vitruvian Man

I personally get really riled by these debates. We do not get anywhere near enough live TV coverage for fans to judge other team's players.
This debate was over for me when I seen Pat Mc Court's name mentioned. Most City fans will tell you that Pat is a genius but not as important or good as Ciaran Martyn or Barry Molloy.
On Barry Molloy.....I have never ever seen Baz get praise but he has faced everyones hero Joe Gamble twice and had him in his pocket. I can only confidently say the players I mention are the best at my club and anything outside that I am relativly ignorant about.
"The Derry fans were fantastic in both matches. They sang their hearts out all the time and created an even better atmosphere than the Cup Final. They were brilliant. - David Graham, Gretna striker
Dont forget up until the shels defeat everytime molloy has played for derry we havnt lost a league game!!
