    T-Shop's Sporting Review 2005

Anyone see Bertie on Setanta in his "man of the people" pullover talking about the sporting year gone by ? Apart from his grammatical abomination "I should have went", I really found it strange when he referred to Manchester UNited as "we". I follow Sheffield Wednesday but I cannot bring myself to call an English team playing in England "we" and to hear out Prime Minister calling Man U "we" is really strange. Shamrock Rovers, Ireland, my local team I can all call "we". Lots of my friends do it but it's not for me (we).

And Ray Darcy doing the add for IWS (Irish Water Safety), pronouncing "safety" as "safe-et-ty" is another bugbear but this has no sporting context. Ooopppppps, just fell off my soapbox....

That other big Man U. fan, John Delaney probably uses the same 'we'!
Honest! I am not a secret Tim nor a closet Sham - I really am a Seagull.
