Playoff: Sheffield Wed v Brentford (Whelan, Tabb, O'Connor)

    Sky Sports - 7.45 tonight.

Plenty of Irish interest in this match with a couple of U-21's and O'Connor playing to get into the Championship. I personally am up for Wednesday as I like Whelan and we have plenty of players like Tabb.

Watch it if you haven't got anything else planned!

And Whelan got man of the match. O'Connor was very nervy and almost gave away a goal with a poor back-pass.

    To infinity and beyond.....

whelan nearly scored with a cracking shot, not known for scoring goals. How well did he play?

The Independent said he was "arguably" SWFC's best player.

I still think he's going to be our future replacement for the holding role.

Sturrock called him exceptional last night. The commentator loved him. I don't know how many times he said "and he's still only 21".

I didn't realise he was still that young. Unusaul for someone that young to play that role. Another season or two in the Championship (if they get promoted) will really toughen him up. He could be a late bloomer like Kinsella or Holland.

I agree with you about Holland but Kinsella was a great player for us when he was at his peak before injuries got the better of him.

Yeah I saw him a couple of times for the U21's and I was impressed with him. He is very solid and knows when to play the ball simply and keep control of a match. It will be interesting can he make the next step up.
