You could be right actually. I remember Liverpool playing a Finnish team in Europe in the early 90s when the backpass rule had just come in. But it wasn't introduced to the Finnish league yet as they ran summer soccer and the rule wasn't coming in there until the end of the season. So the Finnish team had two different rules at the same time depending what tournament they were playing in. Probably the same here alright; the same foul in the europa league the day before would only have been a yellow.

Edit: Though you'd think it could be applied as a clarification
You are correct, the season started under the existing Laws and the recent changes will not be implemented in the LOI until the 2017 campaign.

Rovers deserved to win, but the openesss with which we played might lead to some high scoring games from here on in.The young guys in the Rovers team coped well with the derby atmosphere, and seemed to revel in it.

akinade is a hard guy to stop, and him going off blunted any attacking threat that bohs had.

we wouldnt have had that kind of game with Fenlon in charge , so we are seeing the positives already.
Yeah, we always had a chance to equalise at 2-1 down with Akinade playing.
Very poor defending from both sides. We started the game with four centre half's and three forwards, crazy formation.
Actually thought that Rovers better when they beat us in Dalymount, although I appreciate that nothing positive can be admitted about Fenlon's reign.
Kept back 40 mins after the game, then herded on to a Luas that had Heuston as it's last stop, it is such a pain in the ass to attend this fixture,

thats one thing Cousins is good at - our disciplinary record has being terrible year on year since he was in charge!
Gary Cronin is he the right man to manage Longford Town?

(And knowing Swan's form of late, that mayn't even count as a definite goalscoring chance)

Bit worrying that Waterford basically matched us while down to ten men for 80 minutes. But a win is a win. Big game in Cobh next week now.
Seen on twitter that there was a bit of a kerfuffle between a Waterford fan and a UCD steward? Bit mad if so......of all places......hear or see anything Stu?

Absolutely brutal game in Bray. One goal was always going to separate the sides. Up there as probably Harps worst performance of the season.

Bray dominated for 60 mins. Jaysus Horgan changed lads around like there was no tomoro!! Mad. Thought we just about deserved it. Harps couldn't handle Dillon Connolly like wrxford two weeks ago. 5 clean sheets in s row for us.

I don't think Bray really dominated anything. Harps were just really poor, wasteful in possession and really sloppy overall, especially in the final third. Harps had the larger share of possession of the ball, but sloppiness really killed any chance of getting anything from the game.

I was disappointed by Harps. Really thought they'd offer more. Nice run we are on and Tim Clancy and Conor Kenna will form a nice partnership

I blame the clubs up in Dublin for not marketing their clubs enough.

    Lads this is deadly serious.

If the youngfella had lost the top of his head instead of his finger we'd have a fatality.

Typical LoI see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil in this thread.

The person whom tweeted it was reporting on the game and soon after tweeting it, he tweeted and apologised while deleting the two previous tweets and said a steward overreacted to a song by the Blues fans.

Wasn't there myself but haven't heard anything about this and I've asked people that were at the game and by all accounts it didn't happen.

Hm. Well, one of the club officials (not a steward) went up to get involved, which is usually bad news - so if the guy didn't get kicked out, it was on appeal.

But as I say, didn't really see what it was for.

I heard Pat Fenlon was seen in the proximity and we know he is responsible for ALL the ills of LOI. (although watching his teams often leaves the desire to cut off ones own head)
