    McCarthys Bar Author Dies

    Anyone read it??

    McCarthy's Bar author dies



    10:57 Friday October 8th 2004



    The award winning author of the bestselling novels McCarthy's Bar and The Road to McCarthy has died in London.
    Pete McCarthy, who was 50-years-old and a broadcaster, travel writer and humorist, lost his battle against cancer on Wednesday.

    He is survived by his wife and three children.

    Yeah read it and being from West Cork, could relate to a lot of it.
    Wouldn't say he was the best writer in the world but his family have my sympathy.

    First I knew of it that he was even ill.

    R.I.P. That was the only book I read of his and I thought it was a brilliant read, very funny.

    Jeez! Didn;t even know he was ill! Loved that book-reminded me of Cork when reading it-many a laugh and familiar town he'd been to.
    Highly recommend the book to anyone from Ireland. Great author, RIP...
