    Bray legends v Wolfe Tone legends

    With the World Cup in full flow, all eyes in Wicklow and South Dublin
    will veer towards the Carlisle Grounds for a few hours on Sunday June
    20th.
    Although Brazil and Italy will be among the countries in action on
    Father’s Day, a unique venture will see Wolfe Tone Legends take on
    Bray Wanderers Legends in the ‘Clash of the Titans’
    The charitable match - which kick’s off at 4.00 p.m. - is being played
    in order to raise much needed funds for the
    progress in developing the Wolfe Tone and District Youth Club, and
    their grounds at the Temple Sportsfield.
    To say the Wanderers squad have experience is an understatement.
    All told, they have over 4,500 appearances in the Green and White jersey.
    They include Premier Division champions and a host over FAI Cup
    winners as well as Bray’s record appearance holder Colm Tresson and
    record goal-scorer Kieran ‘Tarzan’ O’Brien.
    Former Republic of Ireland ‘B’ team manager, and two-time FAI Cup
    winning boss Pat Devlin, will oversee the Seasiders from the dug-out.
    He will be assisted by Anthony ‘Bo’ McKeever.
    The Seagulls squad already experience in such a fixture.
    In October 2009, they drew with their Liverpool counterparts 2-2 in
    front of 3,000 spectators with 1990 FAI Cup hat-trick hero John Ryan
    on the mark for Bray as well as a 25-yard screamer from Richie
    Parsons.
    Current Longford Town manager Tony Cousins and Phil Babb drew the Red’s level.
    Not be outdone, the ‘Youth Club selection will also include a number of
    other ex-Bray players in the shape of goalkeepers Darren Brien and Ian
    Fowler, defender Danny O’Connor as well as the strike duo of Justin
    Dutton and Shay Brien.
    With club chairman James Earls also on the sidelines, the Blue’s panel
    also includes an Oscar Traynor Trophy winner in shape of net-minder
    Shaun Temple.
    And former Wicklow League Overall and Divisional player’s of the year
    like Thomas Tobin, Stuart Purcell and Jamie Quiney.
    They will also have a guest appearance by Sheffield Wednesday
    midfielder James O’Connor, himself a former Wolfe Tone schoolboy.

    The Wolfe Tone players are as follows: Shaun Temple, Darren Brien,
    Shay Brien, Ian Fowler (trainer), Mick Mohan, Ben McNulty, Justin
    Kelly, Justin Dutton, Tony Salmon, Kevin Scanlon (trainer), John
    Scanlon Jnr, Keith Maloney, Thomas Tobin, James Tracey, Stuart
    Purcell, Tony Harris, Mark Mahon, Gary Purdy, Darren Temple, Jamie
    Quiney, James O’Connor, Gary O’Connor, Danny O’Connor, Dean Jordan and
    Paul Dowling.

    The Bray Wanderers legends panel includes: Colin Kelly, Alan Young,
    Matt Britton, Maurice Farrell, Anthony ‘Bo’ McKeever, Jody Lynch,
    Keith Long, Mick Doohan, Adrian Cairns, Gavin Teehan, Colm Tresson,
    Philip Keogh, Stephen Fox, Robbie Coyle, Alan Dodd, Barry O’Connor,
    John Finnegan, Pat O’Brien, Kieran ‘Tarzan’ O’Brien, Richie Parsons,
    John Finnegan and Philip Gormley.

    * Admission price for the charity fixture is €5 with a souvenir match
    day programme also priced at €5 *
