Vikings intend to make an impact
Dublin City boss John Gill has promised that the Vikings are not in the top flight just to make up the numbers, as the 2003/04 First Division champions prepare for the ’04 season opener against Cork City.
Gill brings his newly-promoted side to Turner’s Cross for a Friday evening showdown with the much-lauded Leesiders intent on getting off to the best possible start.

JOHN GILL takes first division champions Dublin City FC to Turner's Cross Friday evening fully expecting a eircom League Premier division baptism of fire at the hands of Cork City.
"It's a massive game to start off with and while it's fraught with difficulty, I'd nearly prefer to face into something like this than a home fixture," said Gill at the squad's St Patrick's Day training session at ALSAA, near Dublin Airport.
