eel we westies, do not sing-song-along, we have a very bland drawn out vowel accent, actually drawn out like the yanks but the key difference is optimism and effect.

Not too sure about my favourite but my least favorite is that of the D4. Psoh almost English like. Can be heard around Bray and most Leinster Rugby clubs.

It's all sing-song-along the N17, Paul With the exception of the Sligo towny accent, which sounds a little like the Dundawwk towny accent, which I'd put down to their proximity to the border. The worst accent on the island (and Dundalk is definitely up there) has to be the cacophonous fusion of Scots and Ulster heard in Coleraine/Ballymoney/Ballymena (hey).

I love the Ballymena accent. Used to go out with a guy whom I would make say, "Big Shopping Centre in Ballymena hey" over and over again. Bliss.

You'd need to be a bit more specific - there are some horrendous accents over here - the aberdonian one is particularly grating.

    Nordie for me
JERRY: But are you still master of your domain?
GEORGE: I am king of the county. You?
    JERRY: Lord of the manor.

Like: soft Cork (female only), soft Monaghan and anything from d'Wesht.
Dislike: Navan, Drogheda, Dundalk and both extremes of Dub ( "roysh, DORT etc." and "ya bleedin' wha?"). Also dislike strong Derry accents, Nadine Coyle makes me want to pretend I'm from somewhere else.

I find Kerry people utterly incomprehensible and require C3P0 to be at my side to interpret.

All they're asking is DO - YOU - KEEP - COWS?

That's all they ever ask ...anyone ...anywhere!

Well you needn't worry then as to how she likes it, boiled or otherwise. I'd say opening your mouth may make her mind up on keeping her clothes on.

I notice the most disliked accent for culchies are Dublin ones. What a shocker!!!

All Irish accents have their pros and cons, it all depends on the person speaking it. A fool is a fool in any accent.

I love the Southern accent, and I mean ANY southern accent. If a lady has a southern accent I'm already interested (and bear in mind I count Monaghan and Louth as southern accents).

I hate the northern accent. Derry is AWFUL. "CYYYYEEAAARRRRRR" (car), "GGGYYYEEEEEEEEEEERRRRLLLS" (girls). Brutal. Hideous. Ballymena and other culchie hell holes are also bad. "Hai bai, quare oul shappin centre in ballymena hai". AWFUL!
