you need a permit for it.
Lads saying how the club is in bad shape surely the club should think about seeing if they can get a few able bodies to get the buckets out in town some saturday? If they organised it i am sure the club could get a number of people out and nobody would be stuck collecting for more than a couple of hours. I know it is a bit of a pain but which would you rather have the club maybe going out of business or few hours holding a bucket on a saturday?
I think it would also be a good idea from the point of view that you will be hitting people that you are not usually hitting for funds e.g Saturday shoppers, as well as people who maybe can't afford the €50 would be able to give smaller amounts. I would be amazed if club would not get a good response form this.
There were a couple of girls walking around the town yesterday on behalf of a band who needed funds to hire stage equipment. Just walking around asking random people for money. I gave them 1.50 because it was the most ludicrous thing I've ever been asked to support.you need a permit for it.
I somehow doubt they had a permit, but I guess a SRFC collection would need to be a bit more 'professional'...
I heard that this is being organised by the club for September
ya you need a permit but its not hard to get, plus if you just have a word with theh ead honcho at the station the boys in the blue overalls would have no problem turning a blind eye to it even without a permit.good idea anyways, every little will help the cause
