    Srfc Tallaght Stadium News

Construction work will recommence on the state-of-the-art Shamrock Rovers
stadium in Tallaght to ensure it is available for use for next season,
according to local Fianna Fáil TD, Charlie O'Connor.

Speaking today, Deputy O'Connor said:" I am delighted that the wheels are
back in motion regarding the construction process on the stadium. The
people here in Tallaght are eager to see the stadium up and running.

"The Council has informed me that they now hope to have the builders on
site in 3 weeks and the construction programme will hopefully be completed
to allow Rovers play in the stadium at the start of next season.

"As a local TD, and indeed a resident in the area, I am pleased that
progress has been made and I know that Shamrock Rovers will be warmly
    welcomed by the community."

“I have been working in conjunction with South Dublin County Council
asking them to liaise with the contractors to ensure construction work is
    resumed with immediate action.

"The Council has informed me that they are finalising details with a
contractor regarding the works on Phase 1 of the development. This Phase
includes the pitch and completion of the partially completed stand and
ancillary buildings. The Council has appointed a Project Manager to
oversee the completion of this contract."

“This is an issue I have campaigned on for some time and I intend to
follow the construction process closely,” said Deputy O’Connor.

Still no date though, still good news.

What capacity will the stadium have if built in time for the start of next season?

State of the art? Surely the most over used phrase by FF when we build anything new in this country?

Once the builders start at least you can plan on a completion date then.

    I think they mean state-of-the-art circa 1995.

Nah, good luck to 'em. This release seems like more of a PR bulletin on behalf of Charlie O'Connor but at least the wheels are in motion.

    No, that's a typo.

Good luck with the new stadium lads.

Having big probs with some GAA fockers in my area at the moment.

Unfortunately it would be impossible to prove any wrongdoing.

P.S. It has noting to do with GUFC.
