    Radio Coverage

Dundalk and Waterford seem to get good coverage on local radio, including commentary on matches and weekly eircom league programs

What else is there in different parts of the country and when is it on?

Ocean FM used to do live coverage of some Harps and Sligo games, not sure if they do anymore.

Galway Bay fm cover home games with live commentary. Although they don't start that till 8pm, so they miss the first 15 mins.

Also they tend to be late back for the second half sometimes, they waffle on quite some about the U12 1/2 B gaelic football league on inish boffin or some such.

In fairness Waterford matches aren't on radio very often....Friday nights game was actually broadcast by Wexfords South East Radio...

WLR apparently have done a deal for live coverage of all Waterford United's away games this season. Think it is with a businessman who is involved with the blues. However, there was only one fixed line in Ferrycarrig on Friday night and South East Radio understandably got that so they had to cancel that broadcast.

Probably heading out to a game tonight. Anyone know what channel you pick up the Radio 1 Sport Extra on on FM? I`ll only have an FM radio, not a LW one. Can`t see a frequency for it on RTE website.

LW or DAB only. There's very cheap LW pocket radios but not many cheap DAB radios, so if you're looking for one, go LW...

I've been forever singing the praises of RTE Radio MW for Friday Sportnight but I haven't been able to get a link this season. I know somebody posted a link last week. It worked and got me the coverage.

Should point out for anyone trying to find it, its on "RTE Sport DAB" rather than RTE Radio 1 Extra like normal, confusingly... DAB only I suspect.

It appears that link no longer works but why are RTE Radio One MW no longer available online. From here its he only decent coverage I can get. For the first game of the season on the 7th March RTE Radio Europe was just the FM broadcast. This week MW (I only got it in the 2nd half) it was great to hear Eoin Hand again but no online coverage. In fact the station is no longer online. I hope I can still get it week in week out on my Sky Box.

As for BBC Radio Foyle I was pretty certain they would have covered last nights NW Derby match so I was a bit disappointed to tune in and there wasn't any.Got an iCandy link that I tried but the coverage was interrupted for long periods so I gave up on that.

Really hoped RTE Radio MW would cover the NW derby match last night but it wasn't to be.

That link only works when theres an FM/AM split and someone remembers to flick the button in RTE HQ...

RTE1 MW will cease to be RTE1 MW very shortly btw - the 567 MW transmitter is being turned off. 252 LW will be its only analogue version - this should be easier to get in the UK at nighttime.
