Tom Humphries Book in 99c Clearout in Easons.

Laptop Dancing and the Nannygoat mambo : A sportswriters year By T.H. is currently being shipped out by the bucketload for 99c in Easons (Dundrum & Newbridge Co Kildare confirmed. Others possibly. )

I Bought a replacement for an "Ill-give-it-back-to-you-as-soon-as-im-finished" copy that I made a mistake in lending, and one for a friend in Spain.

Excellent for Humphries fans or, if non-fans are reading, certainly a bargain for people who think Zip firelogs are overpriced.
On the way into the stadium, an elderly San Marino Steward waved us in and said "Tonight, may the best team win"

    And they nearly did.

How does it compare with Charmin or Kittensoft?

In fairness, people of a mind to compare it to Charmin or Kittensoft would probably be of the opinion that it was already too full of shlt to be useful in that regard, hence the Zip firelog suggestion.

I usually only buy autpbiopgraphies, history and sports books, but I picked this one up a couple of years ago.
I couldn't finish it, Maybe it was above me, but parts of it I just thought he was full of himself, and sorry to say having read most of his articles for the past 2 years, I think this is starting to ring true in these also.
    I wouldn't recommend it.

I hope he enjoys the humilation of seeing his book being sold off at 99c. This man doesn't like soccer. Remember his 50 reasons why the GAA is better than soccer and of course being the catalyst for Saipan.

He's not on my Christmas card list.

    The most long-winded reporter ever.
Just as one Dublin fan nearby commented, this finals brass band was reminescent of . . . . . . . . . talk about the fecking match!!!!!!!
City definetly have the best bands playing at half-time.

he makes a lot of use of the phrase" a necklace of passess". which is fine the 1st time but repeated sounds crass.
and he also makes a lot of the fact he's a fat bastid and how it requires him to squeeze into a lot of places.his mother must be very proud

As an aside, I once heard of a band saying they didn't mind seeing their album in the 99c bin, as they still get their 50c cut per album. I wonder is it the same for Tom?

The price would have to drop another few euros before I'd be tempted.

You're not buying his sporting ability, you're buying a story. Brian Corcoran's story isn't all that exciting.

    touche!
god ya know someones on a loser when they start picking you up on spelling on an internet forum. I'd do a search for your "hilarious" rambling rebuke to a humphries article on here before you go all editorial on anyone else...

Bought it. Imagine a tom humphries book at that price, a bargain. Great writer, top class. Obviously some on this forum would be more comfortable with the Dandy or the Beano
But yeah he is a gah man, who doesnt really understand football
