i was there about a year and a half ago. it took around and hour by bus. got it at a street beside the midi station(i think). at that time it cost €10....dont even think about getting a taxi.you'd be ripped off.

If you decide not to get the ryanair bus you can get the train to charleroi and a bus to the airport from there, the buses are every 15mins I think, you get the bus over by the tram stop outside the station to the left . The train leaves Brussels Nord,Central and Midi. it takes about 40mins from Nord to charleroi.
a taxi from charleroi Sud train station to the charleroi airport is about €20. If you get a taxi make sure you use the correct town's name charleroi as only ryanair call it brussels charleroi.
Aerlingus do good deals to Brussels international.
It's only just begun...............
If the last 21 years were class, here's looking forward to the next 21 years. It is our time
we flew there ("brussels south/charleroi") for a european match in holland a few years ago. its nowhere near brussels! it'd be like calling waterford "dublin south"

went there two years ago with aerlingus. i got the flight for half-nothing. the main airport is fairly handy. it is only about 20 minutes on the train which was only about two or three euro. i have no idea about flying with ryanair there but brussels is worth visiting.

As mentioned above I think the bus from Charleroi (its a different town so not Brussels) takes about an hour via the motorway next to the airport.
Anytime I looked the Aer Lingus fares to Brussels were very steep I presumed due to the EU...
As mentioned, it's an hour to Brussels by bus. I travelled in a group of four so we got a taxi which was still dearer than a bus, but it left us to our hotel door.
Nobody knows us, we don't care
